The importance of sports and games in school encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity. Increases in self-esteem and mental alertness make school sports and games necessary for every school age child.

During sports students learn how to maintain mental balance in the midst of hopes and despair and tackle difficult situations in real life. Sports develop a sense of friendliness. They imbibe a sense of team spirit in us. They help in developing mental and physical toughness. They shape our body and make it strong and active. They give us energy and strength removing tiredness and lethargy. Sports also contribute to the formation of character, inculcating good values.
